Evidence, Evidence, Evidence!

All reading comprehension assignments require highlighted and numbered evidence to support  your claims and answers.  Read the directions carefully.  Reading comprehension includes reading and following the directions accurately. 5th/6th is our reminder that written answers must be high quality, clear and precise sentences.  Avoid pronouns, instead choose the specific noun.

Reading comprehension homework is only useful if you treat it as important practice to improve your fluency and comprehension.

Thank you to Morgan and Ashlynn for a wonderful job at our Patriots Day assembly.  These students have recreated their performance using multi-track audio recording software.  They added a background instrumental track and edited in an introduction by Dr. Adamson.  Enjoy their performance!

CHOC Walk 2013

By Emily Gomez

This year on October 13, 2013, I participated in the annual CHOC Walk to raise money for Orange County Children’s Hospital.  The walk is 3 miles through Disneyland and California Adventure.  Our team name is Robby “Batman” Gomez and this year we raised over $25,000 and had over 95 walkers on our team (Mr. Fredstrom was one of our many supporters).

I do this walk every year for 2 reasons.  One of the reasons is to raise money for CHOC so they can continue to provide care to sick children.  I also do it in memory of my older brother, Robby who stayed at CHOC when he was born.

This is a special event for my family and I and I look forward to it each year

“If you give a man a fish, he will eat for a day.  If you teach a man to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.”

Teach your friends and classmates how to fish, do math problems, analyze words and design experiments.  If everyone helps each other, we all learn so much more!
